On August 20th, education staff hosted an in-person workshop for UFC high school seniors at the Plaza De Artes y Cultura. Youth joined to preview and prepare for their upcoming 12th-grade year. Scholars spent time setting goals for the first half of their senior year along with identifying peers or adults in their support network who could help with each goal. They also reviewed the timeline and deadlines for college applications. Lastly, the workshop included a Q&A session with a current UFC Scholar who is now entering her second year of college at Cal State University Los Angeles. The scholar shared her experiences as a high school senior and provided guidance and tips to 12th-grade youth on what to expect and how to best prepare.
