Francisco is the Director for Education at United Friends of the Children. Francisco is a first-generation college graduate and his experiences as a college student has shaped his passion for working in education. Francisco joined United Friends as a Program Manager in January of 2017. As a program manager he worked with a dedicated group of college counselors through a program restructure that strengthened United Friends’ ability to provide support and opportunities for youth attending college.
Before joining United Friends, Francisco spent over a decade working as a Student Affairs professional at universities on both the west and east coast (UC Santa Barbara, UC San Diego, and Rutgers University).
As a university staff member Francisco dedicated his energies to supporting programs for first generation college students and enhancing new student orientation and family programs for incoming college students.
Francisco is a proud graduate of UC Santa Barbara (B.A. in Political Science) and the University of Southern California (Master’s Degree in Post-Secondary Education and Student Affairs). He is native Angeleno having grown up in both East L.A. and the San Fernando Valley. He also has a deep love for his adopted home of New Jersey.
