New Year, New Opportunities

This month, our education team began virtual group coaching sessions with our college-going foster youth. The purpose of these monthly meetings is to create community amongst this niche of students and cover important topics that will help build confidence and better equip them for college success. Over a dozen youth attended the first group coaching session, where they talked about setting intentions and goals for the year.
Additionally, our housing program has recently teamed up with a local community partner in Whittier called the Nehemiah Project LA, whose mission is to promote the physical and emotional well-being of youth through psychological, educational leadership, and transitional living services in a residential community. They’ve recently accepted two of our referrals of female applicants to fill a newly remodeled shared-living home. Both applicants were interviewed and accepted into the program. Our housing team looks forward to continuing to partner with the Nehemiah Project LA in an effort to help more foster youth in need become their best, most successful selves.
