Our August Hero of the Month is Dr. Va Lecia Adams Kellum, who helped launch our Pathways Program and became the first Director of Pathways before joining St. Joseph Center as President and CEO. Under her leadership, St. Joseph Center has tripled its staff, expanded its services, and broadened its geographic reach to secure a well-earned spot as a leader in homeless services in L.A. County. Over the years, Dr. Adams Kellum has hired many Pathways alumni, giving them stable employment.

Today she holds a gubernatorial appointment to the CADHCD’s No Place Like Home Program Advisory Committee and sits on the Housing California Board, Policy Lab Advisory Board, and the Board of Trustees for Mount Saint Mary’s University. Congratulations to an accomplished and big-hearted force of nature that we are proud to call one of our own!
