This month, we’re proud to celebrate Jory Rand as our Hero of the Month! Jory is not only the co-anchor of ABC7 LA Weekends and an Emmy award-winning reporter but also a passionate advocate for foster care, adoption, and animal rescue.

Raised in Columbia, Maryland, Jory’s journey began at the University of Maryland, where he studied broadcast journalism and made his mark on the ice as a two-time All-Conference hockey player, leading the Terps to two ACC Championships.

His professional career has taken him from Richmond, VA, to Pittsburgh, PA, where he won multiple Golden Quill and AP awards, and now to Los Angeles, where he co-anchors for ABC7. But beyond the newsroom, Jory’s heart is deeply invested in giving back—he’s a foster parent committed to creating brighter futures for foster youth.
