“Hello/Hola! My name is Daisy Velasquez, and I am super excited to be part of the UFC family as an Advocacy Counselor. I graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a B.A. in Chican@ Studies in 2010. I’ve been serving the LA community through mentorship, volunteering and counseling for over 15 years with extensive experience in the mental health field as a behavioral specialist working with foster youth/families. I’m passionate about social justice, and community outreach/accessibility to underserved populations. I’ve had the privilege of meeting and working with political leaders, community organizers and activists, and used my knowledge to continue to serve and uplift our communities to the best of my ability. Being an Advocacy counselor will allow me to continue to pursue my love and devotion to connecting with the youth and setting them up for the success they deserve.
When I’m not working, I love to be out in nature, or you can find me trying out a new eatery. I also have been taking cake decorating classes and just got back into skating with the hopes of joining a roller derby league. Most importantly, I have the sweetest cat named Abracadabra (aka Abra).
I’m grateful for the opportunity and look forward to getting to know everyone!”
